Ethical trade is the sum of efforts companies make to ensure that the goods they purchase are produced in accordance with internationally recognised standards relating to working conditions and environmental considerations.
We operate most of our business in Europe, close to our Scandinavian marked. We have our own operation center in Pärnu, Estonia. Trimtex Baltic is involved and responsible for major parts of our development, design, purchasing, sourcing and logistics. Trimtex Baltic also operates parts of our production including cutting, printing, pressing, handling and quality controls.
Trimtex Baltic moved into a completely new office in 2017. This has been beneficial in many ways. The building use 95% renewable energy for heating, we have implemented new generation lighting system which is energy-saving, the working environment has improved, and we have better work-flow with higher efficiency.
Trimtex collaborate with high quality textile and trim suppliers from all over the world. The production facilities and qualities sourced have a high standard and an approach to sustainability and environmental issues that are in accordance with ethical guidelines.
We have full transparency when it comes to our suppliers, yet a third-party certification/partnership is important both for Trimtex and our customers to be sure we are only using material with as little environmental impact as possible. We focus on choosing suppliers who are either Bluesign or OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. As a precautionary principle, we do not use nano silver as an antibacterial coating in any of our products.
We are proud to say that Trimtex Baltic is ISO 9001:2015 (quality management) and ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management) certified. You can find all of our ISO certifications here.
Most of our garments are assembled and constructed into finished products in Estonia. One of our closest sewing partner is Protex Balti, also ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified and located in the same building as Trimtex Baltic. This way we have full control, can have a good partnership and make less environmental impact by having a shorter transportation distance. Our other sewing partner in Estonia is also ISO-certified and is called Nirgi Servis. On an average 9.500 products are produced in Pärnu every week (494.000 per year).
Yes we do! Our ethical guidelines and the objectives of our work, are enshrined in our “Code of Conduct”. This is a document that is meant to guarantee that all of Trimtex’ business partners run a type of business that is ethically viable, both in terms of mental and physical wellbeing of all people involved in the operation and all-natural resources affected by the business.
Consensus about these principles is a precondition to enter, maintain or renew a trading agreement. The guidelines in the document is based on international recognized ILO - and UN-conventions. The conditions mentioned in the Code of Conduct are extended to also include 3rd party operations that the business might be involved with. See the Code of Conduct here and our policy for responsible business conduct here.
